Maldives was awarded the “Best Stand Decoration” award at Business & Luxury Travel Mart (BLTM). BLTM is India’s leading trade show on business; meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE); and luxury travel. This fair is considered to be India’s premier travel trade exhibition and was held on January 31st and February 1st 2020 at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel in New Delhi, India.
The 54sqm stand of Maldives represented the various scenes and experiences one can have in the Maldives. The LED screen at the stand also showcased videos that depicted the beauty of the destination.
“The most beautiful stand” was also awarded to the Maldives stand at the Bride Dubai 2020 fair which was held from 5th – 8th February 2020.It is the first fair which Maldives has participated in the Middle East for the year 2020 and the very first bridal fair which MMPRC has taken part in. Bride Dubai is a great platform to promote Maldives as the most desirable wedding destination among honeymooners and couples.
The Maldives stand showcased at a 60 square meter stand was designed to represent the unique honeymoon and wedding experiences available in Maldives. The stand included a photo booth, where the visitors are able to take pictures alongside stunning images from the Maldives.
At the end of 2019, figures showed that India was in the second position as Maldives’s top source markets with 166,030 visitor arrivals and a growth of 83.5% compared to 2018. Meanwhile the Middle East also shows potential of growth with 60,003 tourist arrivals in 2019. This is an increase of 15.1% when compared to 2018.
