Pullman Maldives Maamutaa Installs Solar Panels For Clean Energy

Pullman Maldives Maamutaa has announced that they have installed solar panels for clean energy which have a direct impact on saving the planet.

Over the past 2 months Pullman Maldives Maamutaa have installed 2,081 panel boards on the rooftop of their team accommodation area. These panels have a capacity to produce 665kWp. While the resort require 15,000 kWh for its daily operations, these solar panels have made it possible for them to complete operation with just 1 generator during a normal day. Without the use of the solar panels they had to use 2 generators every day.

The project was initiated under Planet 21 to reduce resort’s energy use, decrease CO2 emissions and upsurge the use of renewable energy.

A statement released by the resort said, “We are using the power produced from solar panels directly without using battery storage. Thus, we required less or no maintenance for the panels. We are currently using 70% of the production which will be increased during the coming months after monitoring. In the coming months we expect to have a huge effect and create an impact in saving energy within our resort.”

Pullman Maldives Maamutaa Resort is located at Maamutaa Island, Gaafu Alif Atoll, 20219 Republic of Maldives. The resort is accessible via a 55-minute domestic flight from Velana International Airport in Malé, followed by a 1 5-minute speedboat ride from Kooddoo Airport.
