Royal Jordanian to begin scheduled chartered flights to the Maldives

Royal Jordanian in September and October 2019 plans to operate scheduled charter service to the Maldives, where it’ll offer Amman to Male nonstop service. From 27th September 2019 to 16th October 2019, a Boeing 787-8 aircraft will operate this route once a week.

Royal Jordanian Airlines is the flag carrier airline of Jordan with its head office in Amman, Jordan, operating scheduled international services over four continents from its main base at Queen Alia International Airport. Royal Jordanian is a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organization and the Oneworld airline alliance. The airline operates over 500 flights per week, with at least 110 daily departures and was formerly known as Alia Royal Jordanian Airlines.

Maldives’ Tourism Ministry reports that there is a 19.7% increase in the number of travelers from the Middle East who visited in the first six months of 2019 when compared with the same period in 2018. The arrivals from the Middle East were 27,679 from January to June 2019 and this represents an increase of 19.7% when compared with 2018, which welcomed 23,130.
