The seaplane check-in area at Velana International Airport’s new terminal officially opened yesterday.
Situated next to the Arrival gate, the counters provide a spacious, air-conditioned environment designed for passenger comfort. The area features indoor greenery and seating arrangements that create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere for passengers.
Terminal 1 was inaugurated on 26 July last year, coinciding with Independence Day. Since then, all airlines have transitioned to the new facility, with December recording one of the airport’s busiest months.
While the seaplane check-in area is now fully operational, some passengers have expressed concerns that the process takes longer than at the previous terminal.
