Singha Estates announced the first phase of the CROSSROADS Maldives

S Hotels & Resorts, a subsidiary of Singha Estates, has announced the first phase of the CROSSROADS Maldives integrated leisure and resort destination.

Scheduled to open in summer 2019, the project will be made up of three independent islands on the  Emboodhoo Lagoon in the South Malé Atoll. CROSSROADS will offer two properties, SAii Lagoon Maldives and Hard Rock Hotel Maldives located just a 15-minute speedboat ride away from Maldives International Airport.

Hard Rock Hotel Maldives will feature 178 rooms, suites, and villas, plus family-friendly experiences and Hard Rock’s branded concepts, including a Hard Rock Cafe, Rock Spa and a Rock Shop selling merchandise and showcasing music memorabilia.

In addition, SAii Lagoon Maldives will offer an original and inspiring new resort concept featuring a range of distinctive rooms, beach villas and overwater villas, as well as extensive water sports, cultural activities, wellness, and world-class dining. The resort will be part of the eclectic Curio Collection by Hilton.

S Hotels & Resorts will play a key role in developing local talent in the hospitality sector, particularly through its two hotels. Overall, CROSSROADS Maldives will create approximately 1,000 jobs for local islanders.

According to Singha Estate, this is the most comprehensive investment, tourism project undertaken in the Maldives, the development of multi-island integrated leisure and entertainment resorts known as “CROSSROADS”, that transform the face of the Greater Malé Region and expand Maldives appeal as a multifaceted tourism destination, cater medium to upscale family, lifestyle seeker and luxury honeymooner.

The overall development will ultimately encompass a total of multi-island under “One Island, One resort” concept, first ever in the Maldives. The development consists of three resorts and the Marina offering a rich combination of hotels, entertainment, retail, and fine dining, That transform the face of the greater male’ region and expand Maldives appeal as a multifaceted tourism destination, cater medium to upscale family, lifestyle seeker and luxury honeymooner,

CROSSROADS, depicted as “where culture meets”, originates from the fact that the Maldives is strategically located on the Maritime Silk Road bridging the East and the West, a destination where various cultures had crossed paths and interacted with one another in the past. CROSSROADS will further enhance the new experience of multi-island integrated leisure and entertainment resorts where incorporated numerous of eastern and western architecture impressions into the Project.

The natural surroundings of CROSSROADS project closely monitor prior to and during construction, a proactive step to launch a coral propagation programmer, to promote marine biodiversity in areas surrounding the integrated resort. It is also setting up a Marine Discovery Centre that is introducing global marine biologists practices for the conservation of the Maldives Marine Environment.
