Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Wins International Property Award for Hotel Suite InteriorsSun Siyam Iru Fushi wins an International Property Award for Hotel Suite Interiors, recognising excellence in luxury design and guest experience.

Sun Siyam Iru Fushi has been recognised at the International Property Awards Asia Pacific, receiving the Award for Hotel Suite Interiors – Maldives for its newly reimagined Deluxe Water Villa.
The award was presented in Bangkok, Thailand, as part of the International Property Awards Asia Pacific, one of the world’s most respected benchmarks for excellence in architecture, interior design and real estate. Judged by an independent panel of more than 80 industry experts, the awards celebrate outstanding achievements in design and innovation across the region.
The recognition highlights the first phase of a resort-wide design transformation at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, led by London-based interior design practice Studio Sixty7, founded by Jose Rivero and Lee McNichol. The award-winning Deluxe Water Villa reflects a design philosophy centred on creating spaces that feel deeply connected to their natural surroundings while delivering an elevated luxury experience.
Located on a private island in Noonu Atoll, Sun Siyam Iru Fushi is the flagship resort within Sun Siyam’s Luxury Collection. The five-star resort combines contemporary design with personalised experiences, offering 15 dining and bar venues, an award-winning spa featuring more than 165 treatments, and the largest diving centre in the region.
The newly redesigned Deluxe Water Villa introduces a refined aesthetic characterised by muted tones, natural textures and softly sculpted forms. Gently imperfect plastered walls, tactile finishes and breathable linen fabrics create an atmosphere of understated elegance and relaxation. Designed to maximise the connection with the surrounding lagoon, each villa features an open-plan layout, while the bathroom offers uninterrupted ocean views.
Private outdoor decks include suspended hammocks and carefully selected green accents that encourage guests to slow down and immerse themselves in the island’s natural beauty. Horizon Water Villas further enhance the experience with a 22-square-metre private pool and sunken seating areas designed for enjoying sunrises and tranquil afternoons overlooking the Indian Ocean.
According to Studio Sixty7, every element of the redesign was selected to create a grounded and sensory experience that encourages a deep sense of calm. The project reflects the studio’s commitment to designing spaces that are rooted in their environment, ensuring that luxury feels authentic to the destination rather than imposed upon it.
The International Property Award marks a significant milestone in Sun Siyam Iru Fushi’s ongoing evolution, recognising the resort’s commitment to exceptional design, guest experience and innovation in luxury hospitality.
