UK Tops List of Tourist Arrivals to the Maldives in February 2025

The Maldives, celebrated for its idyllic beaches and opulent resorts, remains a premier destination for travellers worldwide. In February 2025, the Maldives welcomed a total of 214,091 tourists. The daily arrival average stood at 7,646, with the highest number of arrivals on a single day reaching 9,518, according to the latest data published by Maldives Immigration.

Leading the list of top nationalities were tourists from the United Kingdom, with 23,210 arrivals, followed closely by visitors from China (21,928) and India (10,253). Russia also featured prominently, contributing 20,649 arrivals, while the United States accounted for 6,448 visitors. European nations such as Italy (19,120), Germany (14,119), and Switzerland (5,399) were well-represented, reflecting the Maldives’ enduring appeal among European travellers. Poland, with 5,354 arrivals, indicated a growing interest from Eastern Europe, adding to the diverse mix of tourists.

The United Kingdom has long been a traditional and reliable market for the Maldives, consistently ranking among the top 10 tourist source markets. However, China retained its status as the overall top market for the year.

In February 2025, the Maldives welcomed a total of 214,091 tourists, marking a slight decrease from the 217,391 arrivals recorded in February 2024, but contributing to a cumulative total of 428,954 arrivals over the first two months of 2025.
