As part of the ongoing “Rediscover Maldives…the sunny side of life” familiarization trips, Visit Maldives has welcomed a group of top travel agents from India today. This is the second fam trip from India after the reopening of borders in Maldives on 15th July 2020.
This is also the first familiarization trip organized especially for travel agents from the Indian market. The purpose of this trip is to promote Maldives by providing an extensive knowledge on the diverse products and offerings by the destination, as well as increase awareness on the current situation and safety measures in place. Thus, aiming to achieve better arrival numbers.
One of the top 5 key travel agents were included in the team which arrived today, with senior level members from Signature Tours, N Chirag Travels, Quintessential Vacations, The Pravasi and World of Vacation. The partners curate highly personalized travel experiences from Maldives to the Indian market. The team is hosted by Blue horizon liveaboard, ROBINSON Club Noonu and Conrad Maldives Rangali Island from 10th to 16th December 2020. The team will get a firsthand experience of the unique services from each property. Further to this, they will get the opportunity to explore Maldives on a liveaboard cruising trip.
In addition to the fam trip, Visit Maldives is conducting several marketing activities that are targeted to Indian market. Some of these activities are campaign focused for honeymoon segments, campaign with VOOT and celebrity Instagram conference which concluded recently. Furthermore, the visibility of Maldives is increased through global campaigns with CNN and Skyscanner, and various other activities.
After the reopening of borders, the Indian market is on 2nd in the ranking in terms of arrivals to the Maldives. With the travel bubble initiation and additional flight schedules & with the efforts of various marketing campaigns, a positive growth is anticipated in the coming days.
